We provide high-quality face to face speech and language therapy and specialist dyslexia teaching to a diverse clientele (age 2 - 16), in our Guildford Centre and in schools in the surrounding area.

About us

Marisa founded Speech Boom: Assessment and Therapy out of a desire to create a space where children with Speech, Language and Communication (SLC) needs could come with their families to receive expert help and support. And where a team of specialists could flourish with all the necessary resources, believing in the strength of a team compared to an individual.

  • My son initially struggled with interaction and eye contact and had very little vocalisations. As the sessions with Marisa have progressed, he has grown in confidence and ability. He can now initiate and hold eye contact with her, and is very eager to interact and initiate activities with her. Marisa is developing his speech and language abilities but is also very helpful and supportive in giving us the tools to work these things outside of the sessions.

His frustrations fell away and every behavioural by-product of this simply stopped. Today he understands us completely and can say almost anything he wants to. Marisa helps him with social communication and the surrounding issues he faces which is invaluable. I cannot recommend Marisa highly enough and her support has gone far beyond ‘speech therapy’.
